Matthew 13:44-58

Matthew 13:44-58

Jesus is looking for treasure, and guess what? You're the treasure that Jesus found.Just because there’s sin in a particular place or in a particular life does not mean that God is now out of the picture. Our sin does not chase God away. Our sin concerns God, and it concerned Him so much that He sent His Son to die for us, to deal with that issue of sin that kept us separated from Him, but the sin still affects and it works its way through the dough…

Jesus is looking for treasure, and guess what? You’re the treasure that Jesus found… Do you believe that you are a treasure in God’s hand?… Do you feel like a treasure today? Do you feel that you are worth so much that someone would risk their life to have you? Give their life to have you? Are you so valuable that someone should even take the time to look at? What value do you see in you? This is the problem. We don’t see much value in ourselves most of the time, but Jesus saw great value. You know what He’s looking for? He’s not looking for what this flesh can accomplish. He’s looking for the softness of heart where His Word can be planted. Where faith can grow. Where His love, then, can be translated into a living, active relationship with God the Father and with everybody else around us. God saw the softness of a man’s heart and He planted a seed there. Isn’t that what He’s been saying all the way through? That He found good soil, that He found places where His Word would grow, and now He’s searching for treasure and you’re that treasure… He sees value in you, and that value He sees is the love relationship that you can have with His Father, and that means so much to Him that He gave life for that…

I do believe that if Jesus were to come into this world today, had He not come 2,000 years ago, if He were to come into the world today, and He found you, singularly, by yourself, with a soft heart, ready and willing to have a love relationship with His Father, have a love relationship with Him, He would look on you as that valuable pearl that was worth so much that He would sell everything to have you. I believe that. Do you believe that about yourself, that you have that kind of value in your life? It’s the truth. I don’t care what you think about yourself. If you have a heart in your chest that is soft enough to receive God’s Word and to understand that He loves you, and that there can be eternity for you; if your heart is soft enough to receive that — it’s just the very basics — guess what? You are a very valuable commodity to God because He created you to have love relationship with you. He created you out of a desire to have love relationship with you, and He placed us in this world, and men, because of the devaluing of their own sin, lost sight of Who God was, and it took Jesus coming into this world and telling us once again what the kingdom of heaven is. The kingdom of heaven is where you’re sitting right now. The kingdom of heaven is where Jesus is and if you have Jesus in your life, you are sitting in the kingdom of heaven and He is sitting in you. The kingdom of heaven is not a place, but it is a relationship, and that relationship is what dictates great value. Are you willing to say, “Yes, Lord”? If you say, “Yes, Lord,” you have great value and Jesus would die for you…

You hold within you great value that Jesus sold everything to own, that Jesus gave all that He had, the blood in His body, in fact, in order to have you. You have that kind of value, and to say otherwise, you’re lying to yourself and you’re denying a relationship that God wants to have with you. You’re valuable to God. You are loved by God, and God desires to have love relationship with you and to bring you into that relationship into eternity. He desires to do the miracle, one miracle that we can not accomplish ourself and that is to overcome our own sin. He overcame our sin for us and opened the door to heaven for us. The kingdom of heaven is like this relationship that you and I are having right now with the God Who created us. That’s what the kingdom of heaven is like. God is in control. God is on His throne. God has not given up one inch of ground to His enemy. It’s not God here, Satan here, equal in power. It’s God here, Satan somewhere down here, and God just looking down, I believe many times with a broken heart because the value He sees in men that they don’t see in themselves, and they ignore the value, and they run away from it, and they miss the point of the kingdom of heaven. It’s not the place you go to. It’s the love relationship you go to, to have with Him.
