Matthew 13:31-43

Matthew 13:31-43

Let me tell you how God feels about you. God loves you. Even when bad is happening to you, God loves you. God loves me, and if the bad happens, it's because bad has happened, and God proves His love all the more by lifting us up and bringing us through the bad.The kingdom of heaven is where Jesus is. The kingdom of heaven is what Jesus has control over, and what does Jesus have control over? Everything. There is nothing that goes on in this world that escapes His notice or is out of His control. If you’re thinking, “Well, I’ll just do this secretly. No one will ever know.” Guess what? God already knows. When you endeavor to deceive yourself and others around you, God already knows. And just because you do something bad, does not mean that God has lost control. Just because a catastrophe happens in my life does not mean that God has lost control. These are concepts that we have developed within our way of thinking. A way that we have chosen to live because God is good and God only does good things and God only gives good things, and so, when I’m right with God, God should be giving me great blessings and good things. And so I must be wicked and doing bad things because bad things are happening in my life right now. Isn’t this kind of the reasoning that they gave to Job?…

Wickedness happens around us, wickedness happens within the church, but it does not mean that God has lost control because there are those that are faithful. There are those that are hearing. There are those that are seeing… See, these are things that are hidden. Jesus is revealing to them the mysteries, and what is the mystery, the greatest mystery of all? That even in hard times, even in bad times…God is still in control. That’s a mystery… We try to reason through the good and the bad by sorting out God’s feelings towards us. Guess what? It has nothing to do with how God feels towards you. You’re in a world where there’s good and there’s bad, and this world is in the firm grasp of God, and you exist within the kingdom of heaven. And let me tell you how God feels about you. God loves you. Even when the bad is happening to you, God loves you. God loves me, and if the bad happens, it’s because bad has happened, and God proves His love all the more by lifting us up and bringing us through the bad. But what He’s doing is revealing to us mysteries. You know what? I can actually respond back to God in a love relationship even though life is hard…

God is still the One Who is in charge over this kingdom, in charge over our lives. He’s on His throne. He rules and He reigns. Satan has not thwarted Who He is or what He’s doing. Even though he’s [Satan] planted some weeds, even though he’s tried to sow some discord in the field, guess what? God is there. He knows. And one day, He will start His harvest. He will send His angels out to do the harvesting. That’s why He doesn’t allow us to do it, because we do not have the wisdom or ability to know our neighbor sitting next to us to know what’s truly in their heart. He leaves that up to those that He has specifically prepared for the work of harvesting that will know the difference between the good and the evil around us. And He’ll end it, and then His kingdom will be cleaned up.
