Matthew 11:16-30

Matthew 11:16-30

It's very easy. If you're dwelling in sin, I don't care what the sin is, call it sin. We're not going to hate you. Tell God, "I don't know how to deal with it. Forgive me, and help me see how to walk right with You." Plain and simple. That's all it takes. Jesus is the answer. He is the way.How many times have we called out to God, how many times have we asked God to come and play our game, and then when we get the answer, we didn’t like it. “Well God, I was really hoping for the Cadillac, not the Pinto. Those things are dangerous, God! I want a real blessing! That couldn’t have been God.” This is how we respond so often. God pours blessing out on us…but we don’t like the way He’s having fun… And then we get mad at God, and we tell Him, “Take Your game somewhere else.” You know what? Jesus didn’t come to play the game the way we want to play it. He came to offer us the truth. No more games. It’s time for children to grow up. You know what? You’re lost. You’re separated from God. God loves you and God desires for you to be in relationship with Him. It’s not about playing games… Don’t ask God for blessing unless you’re willing to receive the blessing that He wants to give you…

I don’t always like it when God says no to me. You know what? I’ve learned to stop asking. I’ve learned that it’s enough to say, “Lord Jesus, give me what You want me to have…”

You know, the message hasn’t changed much. Even though Jesus came and went, today the message is repent. Get your life right because Jesus is returning very soon. We want to meet Jesus when He comes with a clean heart. How do you accomplish that? Do you accomplish that by getting baptized? No. You can’t play the religion game any more because we’ve been given His Word, and it’s laid out very clearly how Jesus desires for us to approach Him and for how He desires for us to play the game. It starts out by acknowledging that He is the Christ, the Son of the living God. That we are in sin and have need of dealing with those issues of sin, and then saying, “Jesus, come in. I don’t want it to be my life any more. I want it to be Your life…”

I think that’s what most every one of us in life is really looking for. A life that leaves us feeling rested. You know, we go to work, we work hard, we play hard, but it doesn’t mean that we have to be worn out. If you’re walking in Jesus…you get to the end of the day and you may be tired, but you feel rested. You wake up the next morning and you feel energized because that rest is complete in you, because Jesus has dwelt in you… It’s all about Him. It’s all about knowing Him and walking right with Him… You need to stop playing games with God. Search the Word and know the truth. Spend time getting to know Jesus…

It’s very easy. If you’re dwelling in sin, I don’t care what the sin is, call it sin. We’re not going to hate you. Tell God, “I don’t know how to deal with it. Forgive me, and help me to see how to walk right with You.” Plain and simple. That’s all it takes. You don’t have to go and beat yourself and wear your knees out begging God. It’s an easy burden to carry. Jesus is the answer. He is the way…
