“We’ve been given worldly possessions, we’ve been given worldly wealth, we’ve been given things around us that God expects for us to use for Him, not for ourselves…All the possessions we have are really owned by Another. Nothing that comes into our possession, nothing that we earn, nothing that we pay for…is truly ours. Everything that comes into our possession was given to us by God…It’s so easy for me to look at the house and the car and the clothes I wear on my back and say, ‘These are mine. I own these. I paid for them with my money. I’ve worked hard. I deserve them!’ How many times do we find ourselves saying this? ‘I deserve this! It’s my right to have this!’ But in fact, we’ve only been entrusted with it. No matter how hard we work, no matter how much money we pay for something, it is still only entrusted to us by the One Who owns this world.”
