John 12:20-36

John 12:20-36

John 12:36Vintage message from our 2002-2003 radio program called “Perspective” aired June 1, 2003.

It just drives me crazy when I hear people say, “Well, I like God. I love God in my own way.” You know what? It’s not about how you want to love God, but it is about how God has loved you and how God has asked you to love Him, and that is through His Son, Jesus Christ…

Devotion to God is an individual thing. If you love God, and you’re sitting…in one of these chairs today,  you are there as an individual. You may be surrounded by thousands of people, but I don’t care what those thousands of people are doing. You are called to a personal devotion and love relationship with God. This is what Jesus came to accomplish…

Are you a servant of Jesus today? Are you one who believes and trusts and hopes  in eternal life in Christ Jesus? One of the things that we are not often faced with in this country is fear for our life because we love Jesus, but every day, all over this world, there are men and women who are offered this choice, and they follow… But I have to serve and follow and be what Jesus asked me to be, and then the Father honors the one who serves. If you are serving Jesus, and you’re willing to give up your life for Jesus, in eternity God the Father will honor you. I can’t tell you what that honor will be. I’ll tell you what. I’m just hoping to hear those words, “Well done, thou good and faithful servant…”

When was the last time you found yourself in hardship and said, “Thank you, Lord. It was for this hour You created me. It was for this moment that You put me here. Lord, use me. God, make me an example to the rest of the world in how I love You, and  how You love me.” Forget the circumstances. Have you ever thought of your life as being one that was created for a specific purpose, and that purpose being to glorify God the Father, and maybe even just for one single moment in your life to bring glory and honor to the Father…

Father, glorify Your name, and if by glorifying Your name it means taking my name from the face of this planet the, Lord, go ahead. I’m Your servant…

You know what? So often, God speaks to us, and it goes right over our head. We have no clue, even though the things that Jesus has said to us, the things that God the Father has given to us in His Word, is for our benefit so that we will understand His heart…

And I don’t know what you’re going to choose to believe, but if you’re listening to this message this evening, you are called to make a choice because Jesus is speaking to you. This message is not for my benefit, but it is for your benefit, so that you can know that it is time to choose. Are you drawn, because of God’s Word, to the heart of Jesus? Are you drawn, because of the interaction that the Holy Spirit has had with your life, to the heart of Jesus?…

So often, we walk in darkness. We walk in darkness by choice. We sin against God, we do the things that we want to do, we don’t ask guidance from the Holy Spirit, we don’t trust God and His Word, and then we wonder why our lives are in such turmoil. We wonder why we spend our lives fallen, rather than walking in victory in the Person and Name of Jesus Christ. Jesus tells us, it’s because we must put our trust in the Light. You have access to the Light… The Light is the Person and relationship of Jesus Christ. You’ve got to choose. You have to put your trust in Him so that you may become sons of Light…

I suggest that you do not allow for yourself to be tempted in any way to walk away from the relationship of Jesus Christ.
