John 5:16-20

John 5:16-20

John 5:20Vintage message from our 2002-2003 radio program called “Perspective” aired November 24, 2002.

Sometimes, if we are going to walk right with Jesus and be blessed by Him and grow in Him, we need to understand His grace, and we need to understand that just having Him in our lives is sufficient, and what makes us whole is not that we can walk again or that we can see again, but that we can interact with God again the way He meant for us to from the very beginning…

God is going to do amazing things through His Son: things that we may not understand, things that we may not agree with, things that may go against our construct, our way of thinking… Well, you know what? I happen to believe that God still is God… It is about, what is the Father doing, and what has the Father always been doing? And what has Jesus come to tell us and prove to us what the Father is doing? And do our rules and our regulations negate what God is trying to do in us? Does it take away the miraculous that Jesus would try to accomplish in our life?… So often…we take away the power of God to suit our own rules and regulations…

We need to be very careful about how we study God’s Word and what we’re claiming to be from God and what is not from God. But if it’s from God, and it can be explained in His Word clearly, and you happen to be blessed by it, then guess what? I will be excited with you and for you even if I have not received that same gift or blessing…

And that’s my next question: are we truly doing, in this world today, what the Father is doing, or are we doing our own work? Have we established institutions and organizations that make us feel good and make us look good, that fill in our lives some need to be recognized, or are we truly doing what we see and know the Spirit is doing in us, Who sees what Jesus is doing, Who sees what the Father is doing?…

Do you want to see great things happen in your ministry? Do you want to see amazing things happen, great things happen in your life? Do you want to see the supernatural happen around you every day? Look at Jesus. Look at Him in His Word. Understand His Word, and look to the Father for what He’s doing, and allow Him to accomplish in you what He desires, and that’s where the great and amazing things happen.
