2 Samuel 21:15-22

2 Samuel 21:15-22

2 Samuel 21:22Vintage message from October 17, 1999.

You and I, in our lives, will face giants, and we are asked to stand against these giants. Now, of course, it’s not like it was in [King] David’s day where you just pull a sword out and whack off some guy’s head because he wants to argue with you. I sometimes wish it was that easy, but God says, “No! The sword that you use today is the sword of My Word. The strength you stand in is the strength of My love.” We are called to love and share God’s Word even in the face of giants, those that would stand against God, those that would stand against everything that we believe is right and true in God. But we’re asked to face them…

Do you realize that there are people watching you? There are brothers and sisters around you watching you? Seeing how you live your life, seeing what kind of faith you actually live in your life, and they are strengthened and encouraged when they see you standing against the giants. When everyone else is cowering behind the line, when you stand up in faith, there are men watching. There are your brothers and sisters who are taking note…

To God, we are vessels, and if He chooses to use us, it doesn’t matter what our condition is, He will use us… And understand, that when you live in faith, when you stand in faith, there are people who are watching you. There are people who are gaining strength from your faith; that they’re growing. When you stand in God’s Word, when you stand in God’s love, there are people who are taking notice…

You and I can help each other stand in the face of giants. Good, bad, or otherwise, if we will choose to honor God with our lives, if we will allow God to soften our hearts, He will use us, He can use us, and He wants to use us.
