How many of us have ever become angry at God because He didn’t do things the way we wanted Him to, when we went out of our way to honor Him! “I went out of my way to do something good for God! How could He not bless me for it? How could He not do what was right by me? God owed me! I was doing Him a favor! After all, I know what’s best… God, how can you not bless the things I do for You?” Isn’t this our attitude? So often we approach God in this way. “God, You owe me. God, I deserve because I’ve done something good for You.” And then we get bent out of shape when God does not accept the worship, when God does not accept the honor that we bring to Him. Shock of shock — God is greater than me!…
To honor God is the right thing to do… But, you know, when we honor God, however we honor God, when God is doing a work in our life, understand, there will be people who will not agree. There’s always that stick-in-the-mud: the person who wants to let us know how wrong we were… If someone is dishonoring God, it’s not up to me to strike them, it’s up to God to strike them. And you know what I find? Oftentimes, people out there that I disagree with are not necessarily doing it wrong. They’re just doing it different… It’s up to God to fight our battles. It’s not up to me to fight my battles. If my honoring of God is right before Him, no matter who disagrees with it, God will give me the strength to stand… No matter what your heart motives are, I will still honor God.
