1 Samuel 15:30-35

1 Samuel 15:30-35

1 Samuel 15:35 There is nothing and nobody who can stop me from loving the Lord my God except for meVintage message from August 30, 1998.

God is long-suffering that way. God loves us desperately, and God wants to use us. If there’s a point that I make any more clear, I don’t know how I can make it more clear. God loves us! Plain and simple. God loves the men that He created. God wants to use those that He created. God wants to participate with those that He created, and God proves this to us through men like Saul. He just asks for us to have a willing heart to serve; a willing heart to be obedient…

Sin does that, you know? If we do not eradicate the sin from our life, if we do not trust God to take care of the issues of sin in our life, that sin hangs around and not only affects us, but later on can affect those around us, and will try to work its way into other people’s lives. After all, they see us living it. How many of us have ever seen another person living in sin that doesn’t seem to be dealt with by God and say, “Well, why isn’t God dealing with him? It must be okay for me to do it, then, too. Gosh, if he can get away with it, I want to get away with it…” Why would God allow for people to get away with sin? God doesn’t allow anybody to get away with sin. God doesn’t fall asleep. God is watching everything…

This is the problem we have within the church today; why sin is so prevalent within the church today: because there are too many people who only want to associate with others who know God. They’ll go to church. They’ll worship God. They can even come in here and worship with us. Have a great time. Be blessed out of their socks. But their association is with us, not with God. They have not received Him to themselves…

We have to be zealous about dealing with the issues of sin within our life… God doesn’t look at the outside. God looks at the inside. God knows our hearts. He knows our motives. No matter how good we try to look on the outside, if we do not daily, hourly, moment-by-moment, seek this love relationship with God, if we find ourselves seeking anything that’s of this world, we find ourself seeking wickedness. We find ourself seeking that that God does not approve of. God created it all, and He may bless us with the physical, material things, but if that’s what’s motivating us, then we are separate from the Lord our God…

No one, no one can stop you from loving the Lord your God. They can take your life from you, they can torture you, they can humiliate you but men can not stop you from obeying this command [to love the Lord your God]. The only one who can stop you from obeying this command is you, yourself. And you know what? It happens to me all the time. I allow myself to get distracted by the things around me… In fact, there is nothing and nobody who can stop me from loving the Lord my God except for me! …He wants us to be one hundred percent, personally, sold out to Him…
