1 Samuel 5:1-6:21

1 Samuel 5:1-6:21

1 Samuel 6:20Vintage message from June 7, 1998.

When we live our lives for the Lord, when we represent God the way He wants to be represented…the unbelieving world sits up and takes notice. We have no power to save anyone. We have no power to change anyone. We do not have the power to go out here and win the souls of these people. Even though, Jesus, before He left, said, “Therefore, go into all the world making disciples of every nation.” We were expected, when we went out into the whole world, to take along with us the power of God’s Holy Spirit… When the world comes to the end of itself, when the unsaved finally get to the place where there’s no where else to turn, they turn to heaven. And you know what? We need to be there to help them understand what God expects…

The world today has tried to convince itself that it has no responsibility to its guilt. People live in whatever sin they want to live in. We see God’s hand heavy on this world…but yet the people today are still saying, “I am not responsible. I do not have to call what I’m doing ‘sin.’ I’m okay, you’re okay! I mean, we’re all free to live our lives the way we want after all, right?” …The fact is, we all deserve to go to hell. There is not one of us in this room, there is not a believer on the face of this earth, that ‘deserves’ to go to heaven. We go to heaven because of God’s grace. We find salvation because He reached out to us…

We need to wake up as a church. We need to wake up as God’s children and understand that our lives are to represent Him; that who we are is to make a statement to a dying world and a lost world. Who we are is to show the power of God’s Holy Spirit.
