Luke 15:10 NIV
In the same way, I tell you, there is rejoicing in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents.
Luke 15:10 GNV
Likewise I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the Angels of God, for one sinner that converteth.
Today’s verse is out late – after 6:00 p.m. – due to taking care of things that could not wait and visiting a lady my wife and I had never met at a local hospital. The visit was intended to take maybe thirty minutes, but ended up being about two hours. So, this is a major deviation from what I have been writing about, but wanted to share this even if many of you won’t see it until Monday because I only have your work emails.
A friend of this lady emailed the church I pastor and asked if someone could visit her and share God’s word with her. She is 84 years old and had fallen and has a few fractures. I will give her the name Jane. Jane laughed with some joy when we – my bride and I – told her why we were there and was not displeased her friend had found us and sent us to see her.
We did not share much scripture with her other than the verse above how their is rejoicing in heaven when someone turns to God and repents. Also we shared Galatians 4:6 where Paul says
Because you are His sons, God sent the Spirit of His Son into our hearts, the Spirit who calls out, “Abba, Father.” NIV
This was shared along with the understanding Abba is akin to saying Daddy. God is seeking those who will accept the Gift of Grace of His Son’s sacrifice and want a relationship with Abba, their heavenly Daddy. It doesn’t matter if she goes to any particular church, but it only matters if she accepts the free Gift of Grace and opens her heart to Jesus and Abba.
Nonetheless, I hope all of you remember to Go To Church and learn more about Jesus and our Heavenly Father. Do more than that, spend time in prayer and reading your Bible as well. Get to know the Son and the Father along with the Holy Spirit.
